Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has hinted that he might make several changes to the starting 11 for the club’s EFL Trophy clash against Wimbledon.
The Chairboys travel to the Dons today [August 20], to play their first game in the competition since losing the final last season to Peterborough United.
A handful of development players are expected to feature in the clash at Plough Lane, whilst names who have yet to play, along with those who have accumulated minimal minutes so far this campaign, are also anticipated to have a runout.
When asked about the rotation plans following the 3-2 home loss against Birmingham City over the weekend, Bloomfield said: “We have to [rotate and make changes].
“We've got injuries, we've got boys that we have to protect as they've gone three games in a week.
“We’ve also got some big games coming up in Rotherham and Blackpool, we've obviously got the long trip to Swansea as well.
“We've got lots of lots of games and there's some other young players in the squad who deserve an opportunity to impress.
“So we have to make changes as it’ll also give other players an opportunity.”
The match against Wimbledon will kick-off at 7.45pm.
