Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield has revealed he has to remain ‘positive and upbeat’ going into the festive fixtures.
The Chairboys are winless in 10 league games and if they fail to beat a struggling Exeter City on Boxing Day, it will match the club’s run of 11 without a victory for three years.
Performances have looked good Wanderers in recent weeks, but two dropped points against Port Vale on December 23, meant the Adams Park side are still looking over their shoulder with the teams below them.
Currently sitting in 17th, Wycombe are six points clear of the League One relegation zone.
Bloomfield said: “We’re looking forward to it.
“We need to take the enthusiasm, belief and character that we have shown against Shrewsbury, Peterborough, Portsmouth, Oxford, Derby, Bolton, Cambridge and even today [against Port Vale on December 23], to Exeter.
“We’ll retain it as we know we can perform well.
“We’ll be chopping and changing the team throughout, but thankfully we’ve got some bodies coming back and even though they might not be 90 minutes ready, we’ve got more people back who can contribute.
“I know one thing and that’s to remain positive and upbeat.”
After the match at St James Park on December 26, Wycombe will end the year away to Leyton Orient three days later.
