Wycombe Wanderers striker Brandon Hanlan has remained at the club despite being heavily linked with Wrexham.
The League Two side had been rumoured to sign the former Bristol Rovers man this summer, and had a bid initially rejected by the Chairboys.
However, it had been reported that a second offer from the Hollywood-owned Welsh side had caused ‘significant interest’, which led to the forward’s omission from the squad in Wanderers’ recent 1-0 home defeat against Sutton United in the League Cup.

It was the first time he had missed a game all season.
Speaking on his absence from the squad, Bloomfield said: “There is speculation but I want to say too much on that situation.
“We love him and I love him to bits, but there is obviously a reason why he wasn’t part of the squad this evening.
“He wasn’t in the squad which is disappointing when you’re chasing a goal in the second half as he’s been extremely good for us.
“But if there is one thing I have learnt in management is that you’ve got to think on your feet and adapt at any point.”
Incredible.

The news of Hanlan staying at Wanderers meant the North Welsh side had to find an alternative, in which they signed Luke Armstrong from Harrogate Town.
However, that move could fall through due to Wrexham potentially sending over the necessary paperwork later than expected.
I understand that there won't be any business tonight regarding Wycombe, however, it's worth remembering that free agents can be signed after the window shuts.#Chairboys

Sticking with strikers, Uche Ikpeazu didn’t sign for Wycombe on deadline day but is still expected to sign for the Chairboys.
It had been reported that the 28-year-old underwent a medical with the club at the end of August following several positive talks with Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield.

The former fan favourite who scored six goals in 33 matches for Wanderers during the 2020/21 season can still sign for a club outside the transfer window due to being a free agent.
