Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield has reflected on his side’s 0-0 draw against Burton Albion.

The Chairboys began the encounter the better but fell away in the latter stages of the first half.

Dino Maamria’s side began the second period on top before a real stop-start game followed due to several injuries and delays.

Additionally, Max Crocombe in the Burton goal produced eight fantastic stops to deny Wanderers what would have been a second victory in a row.

The stalemate was the club’s first clean sheet of the league season, however – a feat they have not achieved in nine matches.

Wanderers’ last clean sheet away in the 2-0 victory against Forest Green Rovers on Easter Monday.

Bloomfield said: “We’re still growing as a group but I’m proud of the way we conducted the game and how we have bounced back after the first two games.

“We’ve got four points from the last two home games, and we’re pleased with that but of course, we still want to improve.

“We had 14 shots in which eight were on target and these are good numbers, home or away and Crocombe made some brilliant saves.”

On the shut out, he added: “I’m very happy with the clean sheet.

“One thing we’ve been angry about is the number of goals we’ve conceded in the opening three league games which is unacceptable.

“We couldn’t continue in that vein and any successful side is built on a solid foundation and we need to make sure we keep improving on that.”
