Wycombe Wanderers right-back Jack Grimmer is backing the England team to win the FIFA Women’s World Cup today, despite being Scottish.
The 29-year-old has been keeping a close eye on the tournament happening in Australia, which will see the Lionesses take on Spain in the final showpiece this Sunday [August 20].
If Sarina Wiegman’s side were to defeat the Spanish, it would be the England women’s first-ever triumph in the tournament.

Grimmer said: “I am backing them!
“After the Euros win last year, my wife and I watched the documentary, and they really are a team you can get behind.
“For the whole of England in general, this is brilliant.

“What they have done has elevated their game, and the fact that they defeated the hosts is incredible and they deserve all the plaudits.
“I really hope they can go all the way and I’ll be watching it on Sunday.”
