Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has apologised to the club’s fans following their 3-0 away loss at Lincoln City.
Second half strikes from Recco Hackett, Ted Bishop and Danny Mandroiu across an 18-minute spell condemned the Chairboys to a fifth consecutive league match without a win.
The result means Wanderers are now winless in five and have yet to secure a competitive victory on a Saturday afternoon since February.

Additionally, the club currently sit 23rd in the league table and would be bottom if it wasn’t for Wigan Athletic’s -8 point deduction.
Speaking on the defeat at Sincil Bank, which was Wycombe’s second 3-0 loss in a row, he said: “Apologies to the fans who travelled up all this way to witness that second half.
“I know it’s not easy to say or to hear but please stick with us as we’re working as hard as we possibly can.

“We thought we had moved a step forward on Tuesday night but we’ve taken two steps back today.
“Thank you for spending your hard-earned money to come up and watch us and thank you for sticking with us, but from our point, we need to give them something to cheer about and we need to be better.”

The opening 45 minutes was an even encounter with Wanderers having a handful of good chances to take the lead, most notably through Jack Grimmer.
However, the Imps bossed the second period and very much deserved all three points thanks to some poor defending from Wycombe.
Bloomfield continued: “Conceding six goals in two games is unacceptable.
“This is not what we want and whilst we knew it might be a slow process with the new bodies coming in and with some of the boys missing pre-season, there is no excuse for not doing the basics.
“We needed to defend our box a lot better than what we did.

“The way we defended had nothing to do with new faces or a system – it was the basics.
“We’ve played three at the back before and that’s not an excuse.
“There’s plenty of us to work on.”
Up next is Leyton Orient at home on August 15.
