Wycombe Wanderers’ home match against Accrington Stanley on Tuesday, September 13 will go ahead as planned following the passing of Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

The longest-serving monarch died at the age of 96 on Thursday, September 8, which saw the Chairboys’ home fixture against Port Vale on September 10 be postponed. 

This match was one of many to be cancelled across the country as the United Kingdom enters a period of national mourning.

The English Football League has also confirmed that ‘a minute’s silence will be held before matches, with black armbands to be worn by participants, flags to be flown at half-mast and the National Anthem to be played in stadiums.’

They continued: “With a national policing plan now in operation, the League and Clubs will continue to work with forces in respect of any challenges that may emerge regarding policing of specific fixtures.

“Consideration to individual circumstances will be made on a case-by-case basis, in line with standard match Safety Advisory Group (SAG) protocols.”

The match against the North West club will kick off at 7.45pm.
