CHESHAM United can bring the glory days back by winning all their midweek catch-up games between now and the end of the season.
That's the view of manager Andy Leese, who has told his players to view their five remaining evening kick-offs as must-win games.
He said: "We've still got games in hand on the sides above us but you need to pick up your points at the right times, so those midweek games are must-wins for us.
"I think we're one of six or seven sides in this division that could compete at the next level every week, but until we've earned the right we can't think about it."
Chesham are two places outside the play-offs at the moment, but have two and three games in hand on the top five.
However, they would be seven points better off if they had held onto leads in the past fortnight.
A 2-0 advantage turned into a 3-2 defeat to Bishops Cleeve two Saturdays ago before Chesham failed to protect the lead given to them by Mark Lambert's opener at Stourport Swifts last weekend.
It was hardly ideal preparation for Tuesday's visit from Evesham, the runaway leaders who had won nine in a row and lost just once in their last 20 games.
Danny Burnell gave the Generals a dream start with a penalty after four minutes, but Chesham's unhappy trend continued as they conceded an equaliser just seven minutes later.
Leese said: "I was particularly disappointed that it happened against Evesham because we've been working hard on stopping it in training.
"We've done sessions defending in units and recreated match situations by deliberately giving the ball away so players can see how they need to improve out of possession.
"It's a collective thing, call it concentration or complacency, but we need to do better."
Chesham did have the best chance to score a second on Tuesday, Sammy Winston skewing a second-half effort wide from six yards after Dom Marsala had picked him out at the near post, but Leese said it could be a point gained rather than two lost.
He said: "Given Evesham's record it wasn't a bad result.
"There were very few chances, and that's a sign of two evenly matched teams. We've got 13 massive games left now and we need to win eight or nine of them."
Seven of those matches come in March, the first at Chasetown tomorrow, and Leese is hoping to bring in a striker and midfielder to cover all bases for what could be a defining month.
In the South & West division, Marlow go to Windsor & Eton tomorrow on the back of last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Gosport Borough.
The defeat leaves them three places and six points shy of the play-off places.
