A WEEK before Wasps play Newcastle, former Falcon Dave Walder proved his big-match temperament with an injury time conversion to beat Bristol.
Walder was only playing because Danny Cipriani was on England duty, and had not even started the day as Wasps' first choice kicker.
But after Mark van Gisbergen missed two out of four attempts in the first half, Walder took over the responsibility for the second period.
And after Mark McMillan's late late try hauled Wasps level at 30-30, it was up to Walder to slot the conversion to complete the memorable win.
Captain Lawrence Dallaglio said: "It's great for Dave Walder. He's come down here and his chances have been limited, but he's stepped up and kicked the money ball."
