Former Wycombe Wanderers player and cult hero Darius Charles has taken up a new job at Manchester City.
The 34-year-old, who spent three seasons with the Chairboys between 2018 and 2021, will work at the reigning Premier League champions as a senior house parent under the City Football Academies umbrella.

He confirmed the news via his official Twitter and Instagram accounts which he said: “New roles, new goals.
“Looking forward to caring for and mentoring some of the world’s most talented young athletes.”
Despite only playing 43 games during his time at the Adams Park club, Charles was a popular figure who regularly took part in numerous community projects.
On the pitch, he had a big part to play in Wanderers’ promotion to the Championship, as he was a member of the squad that helped Wycombe defeat Oxford United 2-1 in the Chairboys’ League One playoff final win at Wembley Stadium.

He would play just two games for the Dons before being appointed as the club’s caretaker manager following the dismissal of Mark Robinson, but was replaced after just one day for Mark Bowen.
