A WYCOMBE rugby player is recovering well after being rushed to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with a neck injury on Saturday.
Kai MacFarlane was playing for Wycombe in their derby game against Marlow on Saturday when the winger got trapped at the bottom of a ruck.
The game was held up for 15 minutes while MacFarlane was treated, but hospital scans revealed the injury is purely muscular and not as bad as first feared.
Wycombe director of rugby Dave Rutherford said: "It's really good news. You fear the worst when you see people kneeling around him holding his head in place.
"At the moment he's struggling to turn his head, but it's just muscular and knowing Kai, he will probably want to play again on Saturday."
