WANDERERS full back Craig Woodman says tonight's trip to Bury has become a must-win encounter in the wake of Saturday's shock defeat at home to bottom-of-the-table Mansfield.

The defeat has piled the pressure on Blues' magnificent away form and a victory at Gigg Lane is now paramount.

Woodman said: "We have got to bounce straight back and put what happened on Saturday behind us.

"That was a game we should have won against the bottom-of-the-league side. We need to be picking up three points from those sort of games and we have come away from it with nothing."

Just one month ago Wanderers coasted to a 4-0 win at Mansfield and no-one at Adams Park was expecting such a dramatic swing with the Stags running out 2-1 winners.

Woodman's performance was one of the few bright spots on the day. He provided the cross for Scott McGleish's equaliser and then sent in another pinpoint centre which John Sutton headed against the bar.

But his efforts were all in vain when former Thame United striker Jefferson Louis stole in at the death to plunder a winner for Billy Dearden's Stags.

Woodman said: "The fact that I put over a few crosses means nothing. There is no consolation when you lose a game like that.

"We expected to beat Mansfield and the fact that we haven't has now put massive pressure on us for the Bury game.

"We have now got to go up there and get the win."

But he says that won't be easy on Saturday's showing.

He said: "We are only looking like scoring one goal in matches. We didn't create too much and we need to create a lot more if we are going to stay up there in the table."

Bury are fourth from bottom in the table, but The Shakers showed what they are capable of by notching a 2-1 win away at Bradford City on Saturday.
