WASPS will try to revive their Premiership fortunes against Sale Sharks on Sunday, having had just one full day to prepare.

The players spent last week at a training camp in Granada and after being given time off to recuperate this week, were not due back at the club until today.

The Spanish trip had been booked for months and it was too late to cancel when Wasps were told to play their rearranged game with Sale this weekend.

It's another reason, apart from the fact that it clashes with the Six Nations, why Wasps were so infuriated by the Sale switch.

Director of rugby Ian McGeechan said: "We go to Granada every year and we feel the work we do there is very important for the last third of the season.

"Originally we had two free wekends around it, and it was too late to change when the new Sale date was announced.

"It just means we have got to do less preparation this week."

And although Wasps will be without ten players for the game, due to injury and call-ups, McGeechan insists the club has no intention of changing it's recruitment policy.

Lawrence Dallaglio might have urged Wasps to look after its own interests but McGeechan says the club ethos will remain.

He said: "Our policy has always been to develop players for England and changing that is not something we're considering."
