Wycombe Wanderers goalkeeper David Stockdale is in "advanced talks" with League One rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
The Yorkshire-born shot stopper was an ever-present as Gareth Ainsworth's Chairboys reached the third tier play-off final.
It is understood by YorkshireLive that the 36-year-old has been offered a new deal to extend his time at Adams Park, but the Owls are confident of prising him back up north.
Having racked up more than 65 appearances in Buckinghamshire over three separate stints, Stockdale has two promotions to the Premier League under his belt with Hull City and Brighton.
Ainsworth dubbed the former Birmingham City and Fulham keeper "the best goalkeeper in League One" after his play-off semi-final heroics against MK Dons, so no doubt will be eager to keep him in HP12.
