Woking have confirmed that midfielder Olly Pendlebury has been recalled by Wycombe Wanderers.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Chairboys at the start of the season on a free transfer from Reading, signed for the Non League outfit six weeks ago.

During his brief spell with the National League outfit, Pendlebury played four times for the Cardinals, starting three of those fixtures.

Pendlebury returns to Adams Park following a shortage of centre midfielders at Wanderers’ disposal, as they continue to fight for a place in the Championship next season.

Curtis Thompson is expected to miss the remainder of the season after he was hurt in the 5-5 draw against Cheltenham Town in February, Nick Freeman hasn’t played since August after getting hurt in the 1-0 win over Lincoln City, Dom Gape has only played nine games this campaign and Lewis Wing will be suspended for the next three fixtures, after he was sent off in Wanderers’ 1-1 draw away at Gillingham on April 9.

This leaves Josh Scowen, David Wheeler, and Jack Young as the club’s three centre midfielders with four league matches remaining.

It is expected he will be part of the matchday squads against Plymouth Argyle and AFC Wimbledon over the Easter weekend.
