Wycombe Wanderers made it seven games unbeaten as they moved into the play-off places following a brilliant 4-1 away win at Cambridge United.
Despite the home side having the first chance of the match as George Williams’ low strike from the edge of the box flew past Stockdale’s goal after three minutes, it was the Chairboys that took the lead.

Thankfully, Sam Vokes was on hand to tap in the rebound from close range to give Wanderers an important lead at the Abbey Stadium on seven minutes.
It was the Welshman’s 13th of the season.
Wycombe continued to pile the pressure on the Amber Army as 60 seconds later, Daryl Horgan, who has yet to score in the league away from home for Wanderers, saw his effort get pushed away by Dimitar Mitov.

Cambridge responded by getting the ball down the flanks but the main theme from the first-half was that as soon as they got into the final third, Chris Forino, who came in for the injured Anthony Stewart, Jason McCarthy, and Ryan Tafazolli were on hand to thwart any attacks.
On 29 minutes, Lewis Wing’s dipping shot from range crashed against the crossbar, and Mehmeti hit the same post again with another brilliant shot from distance that beat Mitov on the stroke of half-time.
Cambridge were hanging on by a thread.

🟠 1-3 🔵
In the second 45 minutes, Wanderers went straight for Cambridge’s jugular as they scored twice in the opening 10 minutes of the second period, with both goals coming in the space of 120 seconds.
First, after Vokes was denied a certain goal from a Williams block, the 32-year-old got his second of the night and his 14th of the season when he prodded him a Jacobson cross on 53 minutes.
Scored right in front of the travelling Wanderers fans, most were still celebrating when Wanderers made it 3-0 moments later with a stunning goal from Josh Scowen.
The 28-year-old struck an amazing first-half shot from 25-yards that just flew beyond Mitov who was motionless.
It's his first since re-joining Wanderers in the summer and his first for the club since October 2014, when he scored in a 2-0 home win against AFC Wimbledon.

A brilliant win on the road for the #Chairboys as Sam Vokes got himself a brace, Josh Scowen scored a screamer and @gmccleary12 got his first away strike of the season.
And Wycombe nearly made it four just before the hour mark when they hit the woodwork for a fourth time, as Vokes’ close-range header smashed the bar.

Harvey Knibbs pulled a goal back for Cambridge in the final 10 minutes before Garath McCleary smashed in a fourth to seal the win.
It’s his ninth of the season and his first away from home this campaign.
It was also his first away goal in League One since 2008.
It was a brilliant away day performance for the Chairboys as they move into sixth place on 72 points.
