Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth has shared his thoughts on his side’s 4-1 home loss to Ipswich Town.
Despite David Wheeler giving the Chairboys a first-half lead with his second of the season, a double from Bersant Celina, a Macaulay Bonne tap in, and a Wes Burns rocket gave the Tractor Boys all three points in what was only the third-ever meeting between the two sides.
Not long spoken to both managers. Paul Cook was very complimentary of Wycombe, whilst Gareth Ainsworth was positive despite the defeat as it's 'six wins in seven matches at home'. All the quotes will be up this evening and in the morning #Chairboys #ITFC

The defeat means Wanderers’ unbeaten home run of eight league wins has come to an end, in a match which saw 6,943 fans visit South Bucks – their highest attendance of the season so far.
Speaking after the match, Ainsworth said: “It was disappointing.
“It was really disappointing in terms of the timing of the goals as they worked in Ipswich’s favour.
“The timing of the goals kills us really.
“It’s a leg up that we have given them.

Wycombe's run of eight league home wins is over as they were ripped apart by a brilliant Ipswich side, despite taking the lead. Wanderers now drop to fourth in League One. #Chairboys #ITFC
“Ipswich scored from two of our set pieces and they were countering on us, but we had chances too, but we will be back and there are plenty more games to put points on the board and that is what I intend to do.
“They are a good side, a very good side but so are we, and I am proud of the boys.”
The gaffer remained upbeat despite the thrashing, because even though Wycombe missed out on the chance to go top with a win, Wanderers are still in the play-off places.
Their next league match is against Portsmouth on November 13, but, this could be postponed if the club receives a number of international call ups.
Before that, Wycombe will take on Hartlepool United in the FA Cup before Burton Albion in the Football League Trophy.

He continued: “If you look at the bigger picture, we have won six of our last seven games at home, and that’s been great.
“It’s a real positive for us even though we were a little bit hopeful throughout tonight but effort-wise, it was all there but we’ll be back for the FA Cup on Saturday, and maybe a break in there for the international against Portsmouth, so we will see what happens there.
“But, overall, I think we have had a great first third of the season and if we can do the second third, the same as we have done, then we will have a right chance of promotion.”
