Wycombe Wanderers’ run of eight league wins at home came to an abrupt end as they were torn apart by Ipswich Town at Adams Park in a 4-1 loss.
David Wheeler had given the home side the lead, but a Bersant Celina double, a Wes Burns thunderbolt and a Macauly Bonne tap in, gave the Tractor Boys all three points in South Bucks.
The away side had the first attempt of the contest after four minutes as Lee Evans’ half-volley just went wide of David Stockdale’s goal, before Wanderers went close four minutes later, through Brandon Hanlan’s deflected effort.

Wycombe bossed the opening stages as they dominated with Ipswich struggling to get a foothold in the game.
Josh Scowen covered every blade of glass in the first-half both in a defensive and attacking role, as the Ipswich backline started to back peddle.
So it was no surprise that it was the homeside who took the lead after 17 minutes.
A Joe Jacobson corner was delivered into the box which led to a huge goal mouth scramble.
It eventually fell to Wheeler who prodded home from close range to score in front of the 1,800 or so Tractor Boys fans.
It’s second of the league season and his first in the league at Adams Park this campaign.
He also scored against Ipswich in the 1-1 draw on New Year’s Day 2020.
However, out of nowhere Paul Cook’s men were level.

Ten minutes after going behind, Celina equalised for visitors.
After getting the ball just outside the Wycombe box, the former Swansea man lined up a shot from 25-yards out, it took a deflection of a Wanderers defender, Stockdale got a huge touch onto it but it wasn’t enough, as the effort nestled into the top right-hand corner of the goal.
The tide had now turned and Wycombe’s winning run at home in the league looked in danger, as Ipswich were in control.
Ryan Tafazolli, Anthony Stewart and Jacobson did their best to restrict any Ipswich attacks, but the visitors turned the screw, and this was evident just after half-time.

🔵1-0🚜
Six minutes into the second half, the side from Suffolk took the lead thanks to their man in form, Macauley Bonne.
A mistake from Scowen saw the ball go loose in the middle of the park.
Celina gave it to Kyle Edwards whose cross was clawed away by Stockdale, but Bonne fired in the tap in from close range in front of the ecstatic away end.
This is now 11 goals in 15 league matches for Bonne.
It then got better for the away side as they made it 1-3 through Wes Burns, with a terrific drive, that flew into Stockdale’s top right-hand corner.
Wycombe had efforts to get back into the match as a Jacobson free-kick went wide, Hanlan’s close-range shot was off target, Tafazolli’s attempt was blocked off the line and a Sam Vokes header was saved by Christian Walton.
However, the night belonged to Ipswich who wrapped up the win in stoppage time, with Celina scoring an open goal.

The defeat means Wanderers now drop to fourth in League One.
Up next is another long away trip, as they take on Hartlepool United in the FA Cup on Saturday.
