Wycombe Wanderers’ medical team came to the rescue after a car was involved in an accident on the M40 in the early hours of Wednesday morning [September 23].
The team coach was returning to High Wycombe after its Carabao Cup 6-1 third round defeat at Manchester City, when a car clipped a lorry and hit the central reservation, causing injury to four individuals, one of whom was a pregnant woman.

Club doctor Bob Sangar, Head of Medical Cian O’Doherty and Assistant Physio Aly Vogelzang were on board the coach 100 metres behind and rushed to the scene, tending to the victims before the emergency services arrived.
Chairboys supporter Tina Davis was also travelling in the area and pulled over to help direct traffic safely away from the scene of the incident.
A club spokesperson said: “Everyone at Wycombe Wanderers commends the swift actions of Bob, Cian, and Aly, and wishes those involved a speedy recovery.”
