Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth has praised the people of Accrington following Wanderers’ 2-1 victory over Stanley.
Speaking after the match at Adams Park, the Chairboys manager was seen walking over to the small pocket of Accies fans who had made the trip down south for the opening game of the season.
He also paid tribute to his opposite number in John Coleman and Jimmy Bell after the full-time whistle.

The 48-year-old said: “I went over to the Accrington fans at the end because I grew up with people like that
“I grew up four to five miles away from Accrington and I have played at Accies’ ground in my county cup and school games so I have a lot of respect for them.
“John and Jimmy gave me a lot of respect when we were promoted to the Championship as they said Wycombe deserved it and if they could do it, Accrington could do it and inspire their season.”
