After defeating South Africa in their first pool game, Britain saw off Canada 3-1 at the Oi Hockey Stadium on July 26.
Sam Ward and High Wycombe's Liam Ansell, scorers in the South Africa encounter, were once again on target.

Ansell gave his team the lead before Ward struck, then Ansell's second - it came after Canada had cut the deficit - eased any late nerves.
Ansell and company were next in action on Tuesday but sadly got smashed by Germany 5-1, with the Wycombe player not getting onto the scoresheet.
Team GB then drew to the Netherlands 2-2 before facing Belgium on July 30.
Ireland's women conceded three times during the final quarter as they suffered a 4-0 defeat against Holland.
Great Britain's women's team recovered from losing to Germany in their opening match by beating South Africa 4-1.
