Wycombe did something very rare in their 2-0 home loss against Norwich, as they made five substitutes in one go.
With the score at 1-0 at the time, Gareth Ainsworth opted to make the quintet of changes in the 68th minute with Jordan Obita, Dom Gape, David Wheeler, Garath McCleary and Anis Mehmeti all making way for Joe Jacobson, Daryl Horgan, Curtis Thompson, Nnamdi Ofoborh and Scott Kashket.
Following the subs, Kashket had a shot go wide of Tim Krul’s goal, whilst the Dutch keeper palmed away a Jacobson corner and saved Horgan’s low effort, as Wycombe looked for the equaliser.
Sadly for Wanderers, it did not arrive as Norwich’s substitute, Adam Idah, sealed the win in the 87th minute.
Ainsworth said: “I made the subs to change the dynamics of the game and I thought it worked.
“We went to the high press because you can’t play from the start, as I have seen Norwich tear apart some teams who have tried to press high against them.
"And if you concede space behind your back four, Teemu Pukki exploits that like you wouldn’t believe.
“There were a couple of times he got in behind but not many because we did it really well, as that is their big weapon and I thought we handled it well.
“I thought we caused them problems as they are obviously hanging on to a lead and the second goal kills it off.
“But that happens, and we’ve got to get ourselves together next time we come out against Watford on Wednesday, with the same intensity and the same drive.

“I thought we caused Norwich a few problems but we didn’t hit the target as much as I wanted us to.
“But we definitely had chances and that is the difference.”
Wycombe’s away match at Vicarage Road against Watford will kick-off at 7pm on Wednesday, March 3.
