A football fan has been condemned for ‘disgusting’ comments made about a popular Wycombe supporter who passed away.
Sandie Derben, who was a lifelong Wanderer and a ‘dedicated volunteer’ at the club, died following an illness at the end of January.
Her passing has left the club in mourning with many fans, players and members of staff paying tribute to her.
However, prior to Wycombe’s 0-0 draw against Birmingham City at Adams Park on Tuesday, February 2, a Twitter user reportedly shared disrespectful posts about Mrs Derben.
In a tweet that was published by Wanderers explaining their tribute to Sandie during the Birmingham match, the user allegedly responded with a comment that has been branded "vile".
The tweets were in reference to Wycombe’s 7-2 away loss at Brentford on January 30.
The tweet was quickly deleted but was seen by several fans who publicly denounced the user and tagged in Birmingham City FC, Birmingham Police and Thames Valley Police.

Several Birmingham fans also expressed their disappointment in the tweet. One said: “Show some respect mate. Fix up.”

Another added: “Have some respect, that's someone's loved one. How would you like it if someone tweeted something like that about your Mom/Nan/Auntie?”
A football fan said: “He doesn’t represent BCFC, he is a low-life troll.”
Meanwhile, another user added: “Absolutely disgusting and not a reflection on BCFC and fans who will stand alongside any fans who love the game. I for one will remember her tonight. May she rest in peace.”

There were also calls to give the person a lifetime ban from club games.
Following the post, Wycombe’s head of media and marketing, Matt Cecil, said: “Pleased to confirm we’ve identified [the user] who’s been tweeting some disgusting messages today - and he is currently s******g himself in our DMs because we’ll be passing his details to #BCFC.”

The Twitter page appeared to have been briefly taken down last night but is currently active again and the identity of the person running the account has not been released publicly.
