Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth has praised his goalkeeper Ryan Allsop after his man of the match display in the 0-0 draw against Birmingham City.
The 28-year-old, who has played every single minute of Wycombe’s matches in all competitions this season, produced two stunning saves in the stalemate, which included a world-class stop to deny the visitors from going 1-0 up with 18 minutes remaining.

A cross from the Angolan winger Jeremie Bela was headed towards goal by the French full-back Maxime Colin.
The 29-year-old thought he had given City the lead with his effort from inside the six-yard box but Allsop, who started his career against Birmingham’s Midland rivals West Brom, stuck out his right hand to deny the header.

The goalkeeper ended up being clattered into the goalmouth by the defender following the save, but after receiving treatment, he was able to continue.
Speaking after the match, Ainsworth said: “It is one of the best I have seen.
“Ryan has had a great season – he really has.

“David Stockdale challenging him has really improved him and I think he [Allsop], is in a good place.
“I am really pleased with where Ryan is.
“We have worked hard on him and I think Ryan himself will say certain aspects of himself, as a character and as a goalkeeper that needed to improve.
“He is definitely showing why he belongs in the Championship and I am really proud of him.

“It is really important for him after conceding seven goals to get a clean sheet and to get his head right and there wasn’t one issue with him – he has been fantastic all over the place this season and I am proud to have him.”
Up next for Wycombe is another home match, as Nottingham Forest come to Adams Park on Saturday.
