Spurs’ visit to Adams Park will add another chapter to Wycombe’s FA Cup history, which stretches back long before they joined the ranks of professional clubs 27 years ago.
Wanderers made frequent appearances in the preliminary rounds of the competition in their early years as an amateur outfit, but it was not until 1932 that they qualified for the first round proper.

A 1-1 draw away to Gillingham was followed by a 4-2 defeat in the replay at Loakes Park, and it would be 23 years before Wanderers reached that stage again, this time losing to Burton Albion in 1955.
The 50s and 60s saw Wycombe make many appearances in the first two rounds, but a place in round three remained elusive until 1975, and one of the most famous games in their history.
Wanderers, then a non-league club, gave first division leaders Middlesbrough the fright of their lives in a 0-0 draw at Loakes Park, before a narrow 1-0 defeat in the replay on Teesside.
Wycombe’s next four appearances in round three all ended in 2-0 defeats against York (1986), Norwich (1994), West Ham (1995) and Bradford (1997).
The 2000/01 season saw a routine first round win against Harrow Borough, Millwall in round two and Grimsby in round three, meaning there was a first-ever appearance in round four with Wolves visiting a snow-covered Adams Park.

Andy Rammell and Sam Parkin goals in a 2-1 win sent them through to round five, and two classic ties against Wimbledon.
After a 2-2 home draw, the Chairboys travelled to south London for an epic replay, as the tie was settled in a penalty shootout with Wycombe keeper Martin Taylor netting in the winning spot kick.
Wanderers the faced Premier League Leicester City in the quarter-finals, where Roy Essandoh’s late winner at Filbert Street set up a historic semi-final against Liverpool.
Wanderers kept the Premier League giants at bay for 78 minutes at Villa Park before going down 2-1, with Keith Ryan scoring a memorable consolation goal in front of 20,000 Wycombe fans.
Fulham (2002) and Aston Villa (2016) have visited Adams Park in third round ties, and both needed replays to see off Wanderers, and this brings us to Wycombe’s last appearance in the fourth round in 2017 against Spurs.
Wanderers led 2-0 and 3-2 before late goals by Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min sent them out - both of whom could be in Spurs’ squad at Adams Park next weekend.
