A Go Fund Me page has been set up after parts of a popular cricket club were damaged over the New Year period.
Marlow Park Cricket Club, which is based on Higginson Park, is in need of significant repairs after large parts of the property were destroyed.
It is believed that ‘vandalism’ was the cause of the damage.

Following the discovery, a page was set up on January 1 by Marlow resident James Penlington, with the aim being to raise £350, but as of January 5, £525 has been donated.
All the money will go towards repairing the damage along with potential security equipment.
An excerpt from the page reads: “Effective CCTV will be very expensive, but any amount raised will help cover the costs of repair and improved security, including potentially fencing the club off during the closed season.
“The concern is that vandalism will continue during lockdown.
“Any donations are gratefully received, and we look forward to a return to cricket.”
On Facebook, James said: “This morning [January 4] a team from Sorbon Estates erected a temporary fence around the clubhouse to deter further damage while we plan the repairs and improved security.

“I would like to thank Sorbon Estates and Tamra for organising the fencing and offering future support, Leigh Mason (Builders Ltd) for his full support and kind offer of repairing the building, the many Marlow Life member posts of support and advice we received, and the many kind donations we received on the Go Fund Me page which now totals £515 [now £525].
“I know a lot of the donations were anonymous on the public page but I know who you are so thank you very much.
“We look forward to inviting you all to a sociable drink at the bar whenever we can (and hopefully a fun and friendly game of cricket in the best park to play it).”
