Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth was grateful of the compliments that Michael O’Neill gave him and his team.
Speaking after the 1-0 defeat to Stoke City on December 2, the Potters’ manager praised the Chairboys, for their display, their attitude and their workout, despite Wycombe losing the match by a single goal.

On O’Neill’s compliments, Ainsworth said: “It makes me feel really good.
"I think Michael understands that what we are here at Wycombe, what we can afford, what we can’t afford and we have given his team.
“He has turned a bottom-half team into a top-half team in the Championship and I think that is an incredible job.
“So any compliments he has put my way are very much appreciated.
“I think we’ll give them a good game up at the Britannia later in the season.
“I am just proud to be in this league competing against teams like Stoke City, and I think Michael is a great manager.
“They will be in the top 10 and I think we have given a good account for ourselves.”
