Gareth Ainsworth has swapped the touchline for the studio as he has featured in a single to raise money for a dementia charity.

The 47-year-old, who has been in charge of Wycombe Wanderers since 2012, joined former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech on the track, ‘Drawing Straws’, by Wills & The Willing, which will see all the proceeds go towards Dementia UK.

Ainsworth provided the joint-vocals along with singer-songwriter Ian Willis, whilst Cech provided the drumming in the festive foot-tapper.

The lyrics look back at what 2020 brought to the world, with there being mentions of Covid-19, Marcus Rashford’s food scheme, Captain Tom, the NHS, lockdown, the rule of six, the 8pm clap, washing hands, the vaccine, and as well the importance of staying indoors.

The Wycombe manager, whose nickname is 'Wild Thing', is known for his music interests, as he is currently the lead singer of the rock band The Cold Blooded Hearts, whilst Cech took up the drums in 2011, and has uploaded several videos on YouTube showing off his percussion skills.
