As Wycombe prepare for their game against Oxford United on Monday night, let’s have a look at their previous Wembley visits.
Their first ever visit trip to Wembley was 63 years ago back in 1957 when they reached the final of the FA Amateur Cup, with the Chairboys losing 3-1 to Bishop Auckland.
Since then, Wycombe have reached the home of English football three times, winning on twice.
Their first triumph at Wembley was way back in 1991 when the beat Kidderminster
The Chairboys first win at Wembley came in an FA Trophy Final with a 2-1 against Kidderminster Harriers in 1991.
This was a defining moment in the post Loakes Park era, with this being the club’s first season at Adams Park with goalkeeper John Granville, playing the final with a broken thumb.
Martin O’Neil, who is regarded by many fans as one of the club’s greatest ever managers, next took Wanderers to Wembley in 1994 for the Division 3 play-off Final, which would be the last time Wycombe have come out winners in the national stadium to date.

O’Neil led the club to a fourth-place finish in the league setting up a semi-final clash against Carlisle United, with the Chairboys coming out as comfortable winners with a 4-1 win on aggregate.
Wycombe then faced Preston North End in the final, with a certain Gareth Ainsworth playing in midfield for Preston.
Wycombe won the final 4-2 where they earned promotion to the Football League Second Division for the 1994–95 season.
This performance is regarded as one of Wanderers’ greatest ever after coming back from behind to win the game comfortably in the second half.
Since then Wycombe have fell short in three play-off campaigns (2006, 2008 and 2015).

The Chairboys lost in the semi-finals, in both 2006 and 2008, to Cheltenham Town and Stockport County respectively, before reaching the League Two play-off final in 2015, where they faced Southend United.
In the final, Wycombe looked to have won the game scoring at the beginning of extra time after the game finished 0-0 in regular time.
However, there was heartbreak for the Chairboys when Southend equalized in the 122nd minute to send the game to penalties, which Wycombe ultimately lost.
Let's hope it's Wembley joy than heartbreak on Monday evening.
