THE Buckinghamshire Youth team travelled to Coventry to face Warwickshire for the first time and knowing that nothing other than a win would do.
Bucks had to overcome the challenge of a closure on the M1 and two players dropping out at short notice, but confidence was still high after the fantastic win against Bedfordshire in February.
On the back of the 7-0 victory for the Under 18s last month, Matt Brackley kept the winning run going with a 3-2 (15.82 average) success.
Toby McLeod showed signs of his practice board form with a 3-0 (15.82 win) but Harrison Craddock struggled with his doubles in an unusual 3-1 (16.35 loss). Bailey Martin could not find his recent form in a 3-0 (14.29) defeat.
Leo Beechey hit a 180 on the way to winning 3-2 (20.00) and the U18s player-of-the-match award.

Due to Bucks being one player short, Josh Bean got drawn out twice, winning his first game 3-2 (19.26) in a close battle but losing his second 3-1 (16.35).
The U18s put in another great display to win 4-3 which was a good base for the girls to build on, but unfortunately it was not to be.

Kelsey Harding went on first and, even though she lost 3-2 (14.29), showed a massive improvement and the practice is definitely paying off.
Alexandra Dorney went down 3-0 (13.91) to rival Rosie O’Connor, but Holly Meadwell returned to winning ways 3-2 (17.88) to grab a vital point for the team and winning the lady-of-the-match award. The girls lost 2-1.
With the overall score tied at 5-5 it was time for the U21s to step up and get the win. Going in one player down, Jordan Martin was drawn out twice so there was a bit of pressure on his shoulders.
Lennon Cradock played first and won 3-1 (20.35) to earn the player-of-the-match award and extending his unbeaten run to six matches.
Martin was victorious in his first game 3-2 (17.60), but captain Liam Earwicker was unlucky to lose to Adam Paxton 3-0 (19.54).
Bucks debutant Blake Bint went on for the win and dug in deep, holding his nerve for a 3-2 (16.03) success - a good addition to the team.
Martin then played in his second game and won easily 3-0 (17.28) for a complete 4-1 win from the U21s.
Bucks won the match 9-6 overall to remain in second position in the table and chasing Suffolk for the top spot.
Bucks are due to welcome Warwickshire to the Wing Sports & Social Club on April 5 for the next match.
