Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth has praised his players after the Chairboys defeated Tranmere 3-1 at Adams Park on Saturday.
Goals from Anthony Stewart, Adebayo Akinfenwa and a penalty from Joe Jacobson, saw Ainsworth’s men secure back-to-back wins for the first time in three months.

It was also their first victory at home against Tranmere in the league since February 2012, when Ainsworth scored the winner.
The win means that Wycombe are now one point off top spot.
Speaking after the game, Ainsworth said: “It was great to have back-to-back wins.
“We have improved on last season which was always the remit but with the trust being handed over yesterday (Friday) to Rob Couhig, I wanted to start off with a win.
“That wind was tough as it was howling out there and I thought we handled it really well.
“The second-half was important as we spoke about technique at half-time.
“We spoke about, ‘what’s going to come at us’, and ‘what’s the best way to deal with it’.
“We also spoke about those moments where we knew it was going to be a battle, such as the long balls that Tranmere did, but the question was, who could settle it in midfield and I thought Dominic Gape, David Wheeler and Curtis Thompson along with Nnamdi when he came on, were brilliant.
“The midfielders sent it to our wide players and Fred showed that inspirational brilliance which he has got.

“He’s a match-winner and so is the man in the middle there in Akinfenwa.
“He got a great goal, Anthony’s goal was very important just before half-time and the penalty was right on the line.
“I’d hate to be a referee and the ref took some stick from the opposition bench but I thought, if I’m honest, we were quicker to the ball at times, we were getting fouled a lot and they’ll probably blame the referee but everyone knows how we play.
“And if they can’t stop us, we’ll carry on playing the way we do.”
Wycombe’s next match is away at Doncaster on Saturday, February 29.
