WYCOMBE Wanderers will clash with Tranmere Rovers for the fourth time this season as The Chairboys bid to for back-to-back wins in League One this Saturday (3pm).
Wanderers secured a first win on the road since November with an impressive performance in a 2-0 victory at bottom side Bolton Wanderers last weekend.
Tranmere dumped Wycombe out the FA Cup back in November as The Chairboys lost 2-1 at home in a first-round replay.
The visitors are currently in the relegation places and seven points off safety, but they had an impressive run in the cup after knocking out Wycombe out.
Tranmere went on to knock out Chichester City and Premier League club Watford, before eventually being knocked out by Manchester United in the fourth round.
The Chairboys will be looking to keep their impressive home record intact, which was the best in the Football League until a recent defeat to Fleetwood Town, but they are under no illusion of the test they will face on Saturday.
Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth told the Bucks Free Press: “I’m asking for another performance similar to Bolton. Sometimes you don’t get the result you deserve but the performance, nine time out of 10, will get you the result.

“The performance is what I’m about. I’ll make sure we’re performing at the tiptop and hopefully the result will come.
“I’ll never put a game down as a must-win because I know the pressure the boys are under. They must perform to stay in the team and to keep their shirts and they know that, but you also can’t control what happens sometimes.
“It was a fantastic cup run Tranmere went on but you can’t look back and think I’m going to get revenge, we’re bigger than that.
“We’re a team that takes each game as it comes, it’s Tranmere at home, forget what happened in the past and I’m sure the best team will win on Saturday.”
Ainsworth continued: “Matt Bloomfield missed last week due to the calf injury he picked up against Bristol Rovers, but he’s back now.
“We’re in a full blood of health and were poised for the next two games.
“The 3,000 hardcore supporters we get our superb. They’ve been part of what we’ve achieved over the last seven years, not just this year, and I can’t thank them enough.
“I’m just hoping we can spread the word and get people coming down and getting behind the boys.”

Midfielder, David Wheeler, knows how tough this weekend’s fixture will be playing a team fighting relegation.
The 29-year-old said: “If a team has something to play for then it’s always going to be a tough game.
“They’re fighting for their lives to stay up and that might make it potentially a much more difficult game than a mid-table team.
“They showed how good a team they can be in the FA cup this season so I don’t think in anyway we’re going to take it lightly.
“We will respect them as a team. They’ve got some good players and we’re just focusing on what we can do.”
Wycombe will hope to continue to fight for the automatic promotion places after falling to third, with a win against a struggling Tranmere at Adams Park this Saturday (3pm).
