Wycombe forward Rolando Aarons revealed it was fantastic to score his first goal for the club in their 1-0 win over Shrewsbury on Saturday.
Aarons coolly slotted home the winner in the second half after good work from Darius Charles and the Newcastle loanee admitted it was a great feeling to get the goal and the victory.
He said: "To get the winning goal was a great feeling.
"Most importantly, we are top of the league ahead of second place by a few points so overall it was a great day.
"The manager was speaking to me and Scotty at half-time saying this is a game we need to stay patient in and the chance will come and luckily it did I managed to score."
Aarons has now been at Adams Park for two months and explained how much he is enjoying his time at the club.
He added: "It has been brilliant.
"I enjoy coming in every day, they are a special group of boys and they are almost like a family here.
"As long as I am enjoying it, I can play my best football and that is what I aim to do."
