Penn Street Cricket Club have been awarded a plum fixture for the 2018 season.
The village side, who pride themselves on their family-friendly atmosphere, will play the legendary Marylebone Cricket Club on July 1 at their base in Penn Street Village, near Amersham.
Marylebone Cricket Club, better known as The MCC, is arguably the most famous club side in world cricket.
Players have to go through a rigorous selection exercise, ensuring that only the cream of club cricketers represent them on a regular basis.
This will be their first ever visit to Penn Street. Penn Street president Ian Jones said: "This is a great honour for our little village side.
"The cricket will be a real test for our players, but we hope that it will be a close and entertaining game.
"The club have an idyllic village green setting, bordered by two pubs selling great food and drinks, so they hope that as many people as possible will come along and support the day."
The MCC have been represented in the past by the likes of Alastair Cook, Graham Onions, Nick Compton and James Hildreth.
