England batsman Alex Hales made a triumphant return to the England one-say side as they went 3-0 up on Sunday to give them an unassailable lead in the five-match series against Australia.
Former Chesham Grammar School pupil Hales made his comeback in the first match of the series in Melbourne following an incident in Bristol involving all-rounder Ben Stokes.
The 29-year-old has had a lean time with the bat in the series with scores of four, 57 and one but his 57 at Brisbane played a key role in a rapid start for England.
The team won by 16 runs in Sydney in Sunday's one-dayer to seal the series thanks to Jos Buttler's sparkling 100 not out off 83 balls.
With Hales back in the team at an unaccustomed role at number three, he said to the BBC: ""It has been a long few months but it is great to be back out here.
"It hurt massively at the time, to miss two games for something that happened off the field.
"It is disappointing and it will make me enjoy my time in an England shirt a hell of a lot more, and cherish every moment I get on the field.
"In terms of going out in the middle of a series, that is the lesson I have learned from that incident.
"It has been a long few months but it is great to be back out here."
The next match is on Friday in Adelaide.
