Attempts by Beaconsfield SYCOB to change the last part of their name to Town have been scuppered by the FA.
The club, which was originally called Beaconsfield United, gained the name SYCOB after a merger with Slough Youth Club Old Boys in 1994.
The Rams were looking to change their name as no one at the club has links to the old Slough club, and their new identity was accepted by the Southern League Central, the league which they compete in.
But FA regulations ruled that because they hadn’t applied for the name change before December 31 last year that they will now have to wait until next season to assume the name Town.
Becky are still looking for a manager and expect an announcement to be made shortly along with details of their pre-season friendlies.
Nas Bashir, who took temporary charge of the team for the final two months of the season, has been voted on to the club’s board and is in charge of overseeing football operations.
Bashir also runs the FAB Academy, who have been providing young players with a route into senior football via the Rams.
The Academy’s team ended a successful season by winning the English Colleges National Cup final by beating Hartpury College 4-3 on penalties at Notts Counry’s Meadow Lane ground on May 13.
