CHESHAM Stags battled to a hard-fought 17-14 victory over Slough in the final of the Bucks Bowl.
Slough crossed first, but Jack Davies raced over for Chesham’s first score and a conversion and penalty from Nick Jones make it 10-7 at the break.
Slough regained the lead with their second try after the interval, but Alex Barton won it for Chesham.
Captain Olly Jaycocks said: “I’m really proud of the team for their performance in a muddy battle which we ground out.
“I think it came down to who wanted it more. We were fitter and played better rugby but credit to Slough who wouldn’t give up.
“Alex Barton really shone, hitting every breakdown and scoring the winning try, while Hugo Joliffe was a threat every time he had the ball.
“It’s an absolute honour to be able to lift the trophy for the second year running.”
