AIDY Boothroyd was sacked as Northampton Town manager in the wake of his side’s 4-1 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers this afternoon.
A statement on the Cobblers’ official website said the 42-year-old had “left the club”, adding "the decision was made" by chairman David Cardoza after today’s game at Sixfields.
Blues scored twice in each half to end their eight match winless run with their biggest win of the season - a result which left Northampton rooted to the foot of the League Two table.
