George Jack
GEORGE Jack has been awarded a 6th Dan for his contribution to judo.
Black belt 5th Dan is the highest level of competitive judo, with the red and white belt for 6th, 7th or 8th Dans awarded for servives to the sport.
Jack has been part of High Wycombe Judo Centre since it was founded 21 years ago.
In that time he has been a competitor, a senior coach for 16 years and is now a club director, helping the club reach out to the community with coaching sessions at schools.
He said: “I was a little bit surprised, I didn’t expect it.”
The club is still looking to boost membership, offering free starter lessons to anyone who is interested.
