KELLY Dean battled to a bronze at the Junior British Championships in Sheffield.
The Micklefield Judo Club player has had a mixed time at the event, winning U18s gold last year after missing out in the final the year before.
However, she stepped up from cadet to juniors this year and, after missing most of the season with a dislocated knee, fought her way onto the podium in Sheffield.
