It is an honour to be re-elected the Member of Parliament for Beaconsfield, Marlow and the South Bucks villages. Whether you voted for me or not, I will continue to be your local champion.

In this article I want to set out a few of my priorities for the constituency and what I have been up to since the election.

Protecting our Green Belt remains a key priority for me. During the election I warned that if Labour were to get into Government, they would come for the Green Belt in South Bucks. I was right. Just 3 days after the general election, Labour said they intended to reverse the decision to refuse a Data Centre on the Green Belt in the Ivers. This is an unacceptable attack on our Green Belt. I want residents to know that I have already made strong representations to the Secretary of State, voicing the concerns of local residents. As your MP, I will continue to stand up for the Green Belt across the whole constituency.

I also want to improve access to your local GPs. This is a very important issue for me and I am keen to keep making progress on this for residents. Over the coming months, I look forward to meeting again with our local GP surgery teams - raising resident concerns and looking at the improvements some of the local surgeries have made to their services. I always want to hear from constituents if they have issues with their access local health care, so please do get in contact with me.

During my first term as your MP, I worked to deliver better local transport links, particularly into London. Just before the election, I was delighted to share that more trains were to stop at Beaconsfield station during peak times throughout the working week. I intend to continue working with Chiltern Railways, GWR and the Government to improve services further, so please do get in touch if you have any concerns you would like me to raise.

One of my favourite parts of being your MP is meeting local residents. Last weekend, it was a pleasure to attend some of the local summer fetes - from the Ivers for the Olympicnic to the Burnham Village Fete. I had a wonderful time meeting some of the local businesses who were in attendance. Supporting these businesses is important for me, as they are the backbone of our local economy. Over the next 5 years, I will be making continuous representations to the Government to provide support for these businesses in anyway they can.

Being back in Parliament means being sworn in as a Member once again. During this moment, I think of the people who elected me to be here - the residents of Beaconsfield, Marlow and the South Bucks villages.

It is a great honour to be your MP once again. As ever, If I can be of help to you on any issue, please do not hesitate to contact me at joy.morrissey.mp@parliament.uk or 01494 977 505.
