This is what you have been writing to us about this week.
I felt I had to write regarding the article re. new councillor Penny Drayton who, it is alleged, was questioned by a sitting councillor about how she would be able to do her work as a councillor with a young family.
What an absolute cheek!
I retired at the May election this year after serving for 39 years. When first elected in 1978, I too had a young family.
When my husband was also elected in 1979, it meant we were both out on some occasions.
This was possible as I had the full support of family to help out with babysitting, which they were delighted to do.
So I would say to Penny Drayton, well done and enjoy your time on the council.
You will find it very interesting and, at times, very frustrating but do enjoy it.
