You would first think if reading into the recent Parliamentary boundary changes in the UK, that those clever civil servants in Whitehall are looking to make things fair in forth coming elections, in so that we are represented by a member of Parliament that would cover our local area..
But in truth, this is an exercise done for the political benefit of the Conservative Party, so that they can gain around 20 more seats in the next Election in about two years time.
They have carefully looked at a map of the UK and decided the places where in more affluent area’s that they would be able to achieve election wins and push for an increased majority in the House of Parliament.
As of course it stands they have to share power with the Liberal Democrats to form a Coalition Government.
Is this in our best interest? Of course not
Are we happy that it would have cost taxpayers money into this project? No
Is it legal to do this? – Yes, after all they are the actual ones that create our laws on our behalf.
So as we speak, David Cameron in order to push this through Parliament, is offering the LibDems the ability to be state funded instead of having to find political donors. When you look into this further you will find out that the Conservatives are mainly funded by Big Businesses and very wealthy individuals, the Labour Party are funded mostly by the Trade Unions and the poor relations the LibDems have to pick up the scraps and hope for a number of wealthy donors to help their coffers.
So this is all going on behind closed doors and in the benefit of political parties in 2013 – right here in the UK.
We pay all of our taxes to make sure that they tweak the system, for their own benefits and careers.
The system as I’ve written about before is set up in that you either live in a traditional Labour voting town or a Conservative town or perhaps in a LibDem part of the world.
If you are lucky and live in one of the marginal seats, then you will get bombarded left right and centre by all parties targeting you to vote for them.
If you are lucky.
This is not even mentioning that the 3 main parties pretty much have things sown up in their favour in so that we don’t have hardly any Independent sitting MP’s.
Yes there are a few that are regional (i.e. as in the case of Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland) but the system stops local people from having a chance to stand because they do not have the millions of party funds to pay for the adverting, branding, marketing to get you to vote.
It’s a set up.
And they say that the UK is one of the most democratic countries in the world, so this is the flagship of fairness, openness and honestly.
It’s a joke and it’s all done in our name.
