HISTORIC school buildings are to be opened up to the public tomorrow.
Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School in West Street, will open its doors as part of Heritage Open Day.
Marlow is participating in the national event, which gives history lovers a chance to visit normally closed off buildings.
The school's chapel, cloisters, hall and theatre will be open between 10am and 4pm, together with an exhibition on the history of West Street and the school.
There will be including displays on some notable Old Borlasians, including Basil Horsefall VC. Pupils past and present will be on hand to guide visitors and the Marlow Society Local History Group will be providing notes about the many other historic buildings close by for those wanting to take a stroll.
Sue Dexter, spokesman for the school, said: "This exciting day also sees the launch of an appeal for the repair of the Borlase chapel spire and restoration of the organ.
"The chapel was a gift from notable local benefactors and was completed just prior to the First World War.
"It serves as a most fitting war memorial to Old Borlasians who fell in both World Wars and is now in urgent need of attention."
Visitors in need of refreshments will have plenty to choose from with the school also offering a hog roast, Barbecue and crepes.
