A DOCTOR's plans for a regional 'super hospital' to serve the Thames Valley received a generally positive reaction in Marlow this evening.

About 80 people turned out at Great Marlow School to see Dr Phillip Lee, Conservative MP for Bracknell, present his plans for a ‘Royal Thames Valley Hospital’ at Junction 8/9 of the M4 motorway.

Several people spoke up in favour of the plans, saying patients would benefit from better care and facilities.

Concerns were raised about transport links, funding and the knock-on effects on other hospitals, while the likelihood of the project ever going ahead was also questioned.
