ALL residents in the South Bucks district will soon be able to recycle plastic bottles through their household collections. A scheme has been trialled over the last year and will be rolled out over the whole district over the next five months. Residents will have an introductory leaflet or an annual collection calendar delivered with further details specific to their area. PINEWOOD Studios hopes to submit new expansion plans to South Bucks District Council in the autumn. The government rejected a £200 million expansion for its Iver Heath site in January – saying the intrusion on to Green Belt land would be unacceptable. The previous scheme included 1,400 new homes, but Pinewood has indicated the new plan would not include housing.

TEENAGE singer Alex Riddell could be set for stardom after impressing a record industry executive at a specially-arranged gig. The 15-year-old from Marlow sang to a packed Red Lion Pub in Knotty Green earlier this month, at a ‘showcase event’ organised by landlady Tina Massie and husband Bob. Bob, who works as a TV producer, invited along Niki Sanderson, who has worked with a string of superstars including INXS, Lionel Richie and Sir Elton John. And after the show Niki gave Alex a big thumbs-up, saying: "Alex has a stunning voice and she is a lovely young lady. We're now going to talk some more about how we can progress things. I've had a really fantastic night and I'm so glad I came."
