ON Sunday, Sept 2 there were notices in the High Street bus stop in High Wycombe explaining that buses would not be stopping there and would passengers please use the bus stop in Easton Street.

I along with another elderly passenger waited for the bus to arrive.

First the Carousel A40 bus came down the High Street promptly stopped picked up two passengers and then proceeded to drive past the Easton Street bus stop even though I was standing there with my hand out.

The next bus was the no.32 to Micklefield and once again it came down the High Street.

I stood in the middle of the road with my hand out in an attempt to get it to stop but to avail – it actually drove around me and proceeded down London Road.

I usually say people don’t read things any more but on this occasion it would have been better if we hadn’t taken any notice of the warnings in the High Street bus stops.

So much for the much-vaunted slogan of work for Arriva as a customer-focused driver.

How many other people fell foul to the same ridiculous situation of taking notice of a warning that the bus drivers seemed to ignore.
