A MAN was sprayed in the face and assaulted at his home in High Wycombe - prompting a police appeal for witnesses.
Officers said the 54-year-old victim was at his home in Rutland Avenue, Castlefield, at 3pm yesterday when he answered a knock at the door.
A man wearing Royal Mail-style clothing asked the victim to sign a parcel, but as he did this the man sprayed him in the face with an unknown substance and a second man appeared.
They pushed him into the house, then grabbed and assaulted him, police said, before leaving empty-handed. The victim sustained minor injuries to his face and was checked over in hospital.
The offenders were described as white, 6ft, around 35-years-old and driving a white van. Police are investigating the incident as an aggravated burglary.
