CHERYL Gillan says she won't be retiring from politics come the next General Election.
She has been constituency MP for Chesham and Amersham for 20 years, making her the longest-serving woman on the Conservative bench.
But that doesn't mean she will be slowing down - and, assuming she's selected, she will be standing at the next election.
Mrs Gillan said: "Rumours of my demise are being greatly exaggerated by naysayers. I have no intention of standing down.
"If you say women of 60 are on the scrapheap, that's a very bad message.
"The retirement age is 65 and beyond and I'm very happy to say I'm not standing down."
