A 78-YEAR-OLD woman injured by a car driver who then failed to stop later needed to have surgery, police said today.
Her injuries were more severe than first thought and needed an operation after she was taken to hospital for further examination after the collision, which happened in Marlow at about 9pm on Saturday.
She was unloading items from the back of her car in Crown Road when she was struck by a passing vehicle, causing her to fall to the floor.
The vehicle, either a black Audi A3 S-line or Quattro, possibly with a 54 plate, then drove away from the scene without stopping. During the collision, the glass in the wing-mirror on the passenger’s side of the car was broken.
Thames Valley Police has today renewed its appeal for witnesses because of the victim's worsening condition.
